25th International Brno Biennial, Czech Republic

The Brno Biennial is the one of the oldest and most important graphic design exhibitions in the world, and has operated continuously since 1963. We were invited to create a wall piece as part of curator Jon Sueda's exhibition, "Work From California." For our installation, we were allotted an elegant curved stairway that introduced the show as you were led up and into the gallery. For the typography we used one of our studio mottos, "Dreams Made Real." The phrase felt apropos of California's optimistic reputation, and also reflected our personal feelings towards the opportunity to travel and participate in the Biennial. The piece was completed over three long days and we finished it a sunny yellow that was left over from another wall in the gallery, a minor green gesture to the environmental conscious of our home state.
